Clay is more than just earth and water; it is a medium of patience. When I first sat down at the wheel, I expected to control the material immediately. Instead, I learned that ceramics is a conversation between the artist's hands and the spinning clay. It requires listening, centering, and a willingness to accept that collapse is just part of the process.
For this collection, I focused on organic shapes and earth-toned glazes. I wanted to capture the raw texture of the stoneware while ensuring the pieces remained functional for everyday use. There is something deeply grounding about drinking coffee from a mug that was shaped by hand, fired in a kiln, and glazed with intention.
As I continue to explore new forms—moving from simple cylinders to more complex, altered vessels—I invite you to follow along with my progress. This blog will serve as a documentation of my experiments, my failures, and the beautiful surprises that come out of the kiln.
