Artist Statement

Up until I was 21 years, I had a tumultuous on and off again relationship with my art. At 21 years old, I shed the self-doubt that I experienced during creating. I no longer view art as an endeavor that must be perfect, rather as an experiment. My artworks are a deliberate exploration of the medium (ceramics, digital illustrations, or watercolor and oil paint) intended to broaden not only my perspective, but also that of the viewer.

My scientific background inspires me to evoke balance throughout my artworks. Through contrasting colors, variety of tactile and smooth surfaces, and movement, I encapsulate the unity of opposites theory. Human existence is filled with paradoxical situations, my creations highlight that our “reality” is based on perspective.
